Dir G. William De Vaux pointed out to Mr Wright the inexpediency of addressing Your Lordship until he had in the first instance submitted his arguments for the consideration of the Governor.
Mr. Wright thereupon asked leave to withdraw his memorial while forwarding his letter of the 7th of March last. "As the question raised is one of some importance I laid Mr Wright's letter before the Executive Council on the 8th of April, and the Council were unanimously of opinion that no sufficient reason had been shown to interfere with the present system of examinations
